Sentinel: Can't download Sentinel software

I am a newbie scanner user and I just purchased a Uniden BCD536HP scanner. I was under the impression that the Sentinel software was included in the package but it is not. I googled to find out where I could download the software and I found two different links that are supposedly for downloading the software but both links time out without connecting to a page. One of those links is here on RadioReference. Can anyone tell me where I can actually download this software?

Uniden's links are a little flakey lately, this link doesn't work in Chrome, but it does work in Firefox and Edge for me:

Try Edge browser if you have it, or lower your browser's security restrictions temporarily. Uniden is still using http instead of https for that page.

Thanks fxdscon, It timed out again but I tried it with Chrome and it downloaded ok. Now I will try to install it and see if I can learn how to use it.

Pretty sure Sentinel is included and comes preloaded on the micro sd card in the scanner. The scanner has been out for many years now and it would be an older version of what's now available to download now. In any event you got the newest version downloaded.

I just recieved another new SDS200 and Sentinel isn't on the SD card, wasn't there on my previous SDS100s and SDS200s.

Sentinel came on the sd card with the 436 and the 536. Page 16 of the 436/536 printed manual states the following,

HOW TO INSTALL SENTINEL SOFTWARE
If you have not already installed Sentinel software, follow these procedures.
1. Use the USB cable to connect your scanner to your PC.
2. Turn on the scanner if it is not already on. Select Mass Storage.
3. USB Mass Storage displays while it is connected to the PC.
4. The microSD card in your scanner will install to your PC like an additional drive.
5. Open the drive folder and Double-click setup.exe in the Setup folder.
6. When installation is complete, Sentinel software is installed on your PC.
7. You can now disconnect the USB cable.
8. Sentinel will automatically notify you if a more recent version is available.

Mark's scanners for the 436/536 mentions the following,

No Programming Required - Factory programmed micro SD card for all known radio systems in the US and Canada.
The database is updatable with the included Sentinel software and Radio Reference updates the main database weekly.

PC Programming – Use the included Sentinel software to manage your scanners Profiles, Favorites Lists, Databases, and firmware updates.

Thanks to all. I managed to get Sentinel downloaded and I set up a couple of favourites lists but I can't get it working.

I set up 3 favourite lists as follows:

Toronto Fire
Toronto Fire Services
:.... Fire Services - West Command
:.... West Simulcast

Paramedics
Toronto Emergency Services
:.... Paramedic Services Patch
:.... Paramedic Services - Zone A
:.... Paramedic Services - Zone B
:.... Paramedic Services - Zone C

Air Traffic
Toronto (CZYZ)
:... Toronto Centre - Terminal Control Unit
Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ)
:... CYTZ - Air Traffic Control

I then wrote it to the SD card. I read another post on this site that said that you should go into the Menu-->Set Scan Selection -->Select Lists To Monitor. Turn Full Database to Off and Search with Scan to Off. Then select the favourites that you want to monitor. I did this and selected Toronto Fire. When I try to scan it says that it is ID Scanning West Simulcast but it doesn't scan West Command. It is always on West Simulcast.

If I turn on Air Traffic only and all other favourites to Off, it says "Nothing to scan."

So the only thing that I hear is West Simulcast. Can't figure this thing out.

West simulcast is a site and West Command is a department of talk groups. Do you have the service types, for fire all enabled?

Thanks dave3825. I have the Toronto fire working now but I am still getting "Nothing to Scan" on the Air Traffic favourites. It is set as System Type Conv, Toronto Centre is Type Department and all Channel Names have a type Aircraft.

Look at that favorites list in Sentinel's profile editor and be sure both "monitor" and "download" are set to "on" for that favorites list. Be sure you don't have anything "avoided".

Also check to be sure the "Aircraft" service type is turned on, and if you have assigned a quick key to that favorites list be sure it's on.

Thanks fxdscon. I removed the Air Traffic favourites list and did a new one and now it seems to be working.

A BIG thank you to everyone who helped me with these issues. As a new scanner user it can be a bit confusing figuring all of these things out.

It sure is, but cool as hell when you get it figured out. I've enjoyed the learning, and the help from this group. I listen to my SDS200 whenever I can, and my wife enjoys it too.
