I am usually good at troubleshooting but I’m a bit stumped.

I have a WS-1080 and a WS-1095 and am trying to program a Mototrbo Capacity Plus system.I have the four repeater frequencies with color codes and the talk groups I’d like to monitor.

Manually programming that in the ex-scan seems a bit vague. I put the frequencies and talk groups in but I’m not hearing anything.

I hear traffic fine on my XPR7550e though.

Didn't see any encryption?

First time programming a capacity plus system. Any insight?

Bottom line - it may not be worth the effort. The word is that Whistler never paid for the licensing for trunking this mode, so all these scanners can do is decode it. It may work OK on systems without a lot of traffic, but on busy systems...

If you want Cap Max trunking get an Uniden....Mike

They track any trunked TG's you select or all thru a wildcard TG. As it only tracks using voice channels it doesn't matter what trunked system and LCN's that are in use, Whistler tracks them all as long as the signal are good and not to much interfered by simulcast issues.

This probably are a simulcast system and the location are receiving equal signal strengths from different towers making it difficult to use a standard scanner or receiver. It has to be a SDS scanner or SDR dongle with I/Q output or a professional radio designed for simulcast systems. If using a directional yagi antenna it might be possible to find a direction where a standard scanner will work.
