At approximately 11:18pm on Tuesday May 19th 2009, Toronto Fire rescue crews arrived on scene to a car ablaze on the right shoulder of the southbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway several meters south of the 401 off ramps, completely shutting down all Southbound traffic along the highway for several kilometers. Apparently the back of the car had caught fire while driving Westbound on the 401. Pieces of burning debris could be seen scattered along the westbound lanes of the 401 as far back as Kennedy Road creating potentially dangerous driving conditions for motorists. It is unknown whether there were any injuries involved in the incident (didn't have my scanner with me...just my camera!
