is there anyway to monitor that ?? thanks
If you like scanners that perform flawlessly on P25 Phase 2 SIMULCAST systems like FIRST, buy a Uniden SDS100 or SDS200. Unication G4/G5 pagers also work well, but they are not scanners and can be more complex to program. Or if you don't have a lot of money, you can try OP25 or DSD+ software radios that use SDR dongles as receivers - but should only be attempted by people comfortable with computers. In fact, all these solution essentially require a computer in some respect, either to program the radio, or run the receivers.

Some older model scanner *can* receive FIRST successfully, but it depends on your specific location about how well they will work. I have a Uniden 536 that works well at my home, but my 996P2 and HP2 were unreliable. My Grecom / Whistler PSR800 / WS1080 also works on FIRST at my home, but is terrible on the road. My 436 worked at home, but only marginally on the road. I suggest you stay away from older scanners not specifically designed for simulcast reception.

I agree with maus92. The only scanners I have that will reliably monitor the FIRST simulcast system are my SDS100 and SDS200. The BCD536HP is capable of monitoring P25 Phase 2 systems. Depending on your location, you may be lucky with the FIRST system. What other systems beside Cecil Co do you want to monitor?

Here is an HPE file for Cecil Co Fire on the FIRST system. Favorites list quick key 9. System quick key 0. Department quick keys as follows:
1. Fire/EMS Dispatch
2. Fire/EMS Response
3. Fire Operations
4. Fire Police
5. Events
6. Fire Tone Out
Save the attached zipped file to your computer and extract. Under File tab in Sentinel, Import from HPE File (Favorites List). Select the extracted file and save in Sentinel.

hi i have the uniden bcd536hp and using sentinel software.
You probably won't have an issue, depending on where you live. Try the programming file above. Or just download the system from RRDB using Sentinel. It's not difficult.

The attached file has only the Cecil Co simulcast site and the Cecil Co Fire/EMS talkgroups. That is the same file that I use in my scanners for Cecil Co Fire. I have tried it and it works.

Questions,
Did Cecil CO decomission the EDACS VHF HI trunked system?
Also if so is Elton town now on the stste system encryped?
Thanks

Yes, The EDACS is done.
All Cecil Law Enforcement is encrypted including the Sheriff's Dept., Towns PD, & Elkton PD.
They have moved to MD First P25 PH2

According to another thread, Cecil EDACS went off the air a few days ago - RIP

Elkton Police have their own TG on the state's FIRST system, and it is encrypted. However, the state police, Transportation Authority Police, and the Natural Resources Police that operate in Cecil remain in the clear.
