I just got Navigon and really like it. Google maps you can pre-load the area you will be in. IMHO Google maps>others. it is updated daily by Google's Map Maker

Thanks all for the YNP cell coverage. Spot on. Just for giggles and grins, I ran both VZN and the Magellin 4700 to see what would happen. The 4700 clearly showed the hairpins and twisties ahead; VZN did OK in population clusters and atop the divide. But trying to get directions to West Yellowstone MT both units gave bogus turn instructions off the loop on the west side of the park. Not good form, but my internal sense of direction put me right.
FWIW in West Yellowstone, Speedtest shows 3G Mbps 1.4 up/0.5 down.
Again, today's cell tower data was uploaded to OpenSignal. HTH.

Today in YNP while driving around I ran 'GPS Status' on the phone (Droid Bionic) to "see" the coverage of the birds. And now I see why VZN and the 4700 failed yesterday. There were a number of LOS events. Bring a map if you go to YNP. HTH.

Today from the Tetons to Lander, down 287, no cell tower coverage. 20 mi N of Lander, in the SW corner of the Wind River Indian Reservation, 3G service surfaced. HTH.
