Howdy Folks -

I have a few scaners here and several audio cards and cables (and a few boxes that can handle the load)

I was doing a "everything I can get off one feed" stream early on - and am breaking that down also into Police on one stream - Fire on the other (just finished plugging all of calfire into the 895xlt).

What recommendations would you other stream providers suggest to "clean up" the listening experience for the listener? Some like everything thrown together - some just want fire - some just want LE.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions (Calfire app here is pending, but shoutcast streams will be up soon at 69.239.28.84:8000 , 8100 or 8200

What to stream depends on what what to listen to.
With that said, there there is little point of steaming something that other do not want to listen to.

Some stream Fire only.
Some stream PD only.
Some do Fire on one ch & PD on the other ch in a stereo feed.

Some like to scan a few freq's & other like to scan a lot more.

I like to scan a lot of freq's for the larger view.
I also prefer to keep Fire & PD on separate streams.
See sig, below.

Using a radio (scanner or real radio) with a line OUT is best.
A sound card with line OUT is best.
Gives a nice clean stream.
No noise when there is no traffic.

If you use the headphone out of the scanner to a Mic in on the sound card you need to watch the sig level from the scanner. You will get amp noise in your stream though.

Line out of the scanner to mic in on the sound card does not work.
To much sig level.

4 more radios here for this project, and 4 more sound cards.. it's a fun hobby
(I don't know if I ever liked the stereo one on the left one on the right.. audio seems best in mono..
