So listening to my scanner,i keep hearing the local pd tell someone to go to 3 or ch 3. i never hear them or what they say after that until they return to the reg channel. Am i missing something?

Go to the following link and look under Macon Police Talkgroups, you will see Ch 3 (Talkgroup ID: 1712 )

Hmm .. im not sure how i missed that channel with psr edit. i will redo my scanner and make sure its in there and try again. Thanks for your help!
Ok i added it in,well i made sure it was in,and still nothing. I asked a friend on the police dept,and he said it was a private channel.So does this mean we cant get that channel or not allowed to?

same thing with Clayton Co. they have a Channel 7 which is their SWAT/Private channel.... i have the freq 155.7600, but nothing comes over it even when i hear someone says they going to 7

Try 57712, I had it my 96 file for Macon PD as a possible TAC channel.

Mark,i know nothing about these scanners,especially how to add them in manually. I did speak with my friend an the pd and he said it was a private channel.

How was the radio programmed? If you had someone program it, you may want them to program all the TGID's into the radio. It could be that they are using one of the city TGID's to talk on, using a VHF/UHF frequency, or, cell phones. Maybe even a county TGID. You may want to put a Wildcard TG in to see what else is on the system other than what has been submitted to the database. This is where when someone asks, "Why do you have all those radios?" you have an answer
