Note: I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question and I come across as a n00b.

I got my SDS100 about a week ago and have been having fun with it. The one thing I can't seem to do is change the Channel Delay setting. I see that there are options for different modes for Channel Delay (Close Call, WX), and I see in the Sentinel software settings for Channel Delay per channel/talkgroup but it's not changeable that I see.

Is there some way that I am missing to modify the per channel/talkgroup channel delay or a radio-wide channel delay?

Thanks in advance.

If you use Sentinel hit the star near the top for edit favorites list then you can go to the individual channel
or talk group and change the delay settings.

It should be. When editing a Favorites List, drill down to the System=>Department that contains the given channel. The eighth column says "Delay". Click on that cell, toward the right side and a drop-down appears. The values you can choose from are -10 to 30 seconds.

A negative value, means the scanner is forced to resume scanning after the time. Thus a -5 second delay means 5 seconds into a transmission, the scanner resumes scanning even though the transmission isn't completed.

Delay is changeable in a Favorites list. However, if you are using the main database instead of a Favorites list, you cannot change the default 2 second delay.

Are yo using a specific Favorites list, or just using location, range, and the main database?

If you were manually trying to do it, there's a real simple way also. Just hold on the frequency or talk group you want to change the delay on and press the "E" or Enter key. You will see the very top option is to edit the channel and just press the Enter key again. There you will see a list of different options including setting the delay and you just use the rotating knob on the top and scroll down to the delay option and press Enter again. There you can change the value manually.

I wish Uniden would do a global delay that are user adjustable. When a new talk group are discovered by ID search it gets a 2 sec delay and most often it is gone before I have time to hit CHANNEL to hold on to it. When a TG delay times out it begins to scan other systems and if I have record on and replay the TG conversation that's all I can do, I cannot hit enter during a playback and save the findings to its system.

The most illogical thing with this are that unknown TG's I want to stick to, perhaps manually start scan or at least have a 10 sec delay but now it scans too quick and doesn't record a rare conversation long enough to be able analyze it properly.

The best solution would be to have that radio wide 2 sec adjustable.
