I'm trying to find out Charlotte's fire responses for House Fires, Apartments/High Rises, Gas Leaks, Car Accidents, and other Fire Responses. Especially the names of those responses and the number of Engines, Ladders, Rescues, Ambulances, Chiefs, etc.

Have you tried to call the Charlotte FD public information officer? I bet they would be glad to talk to you about it. They might have a mailing list for the media they can add you to. Can't hurt to ask them. Also there is a service called Carolina Fire Page you can subscribe to, but you don't get everything, only what they hear about from other people who subscribe and post on their service. It's not free. Hope this helps. I am not near Charlotte but most PIOs enjoy talking about what they do.

I have Charlotte FD in my scanner. When I hear the dispatch send multiple units, I listen for the channel, then scroll to that channel to hear the response. If you search Charlotte NC Fire Dept you can find a list of all fire station numbers

Ah okay, thank you, we don't have designated PIO Ranks where I live so I didn't think of that initially.

Depends on the alarm assignment as to what companies respond.

They usually send an engine, ladder and Battalion Chief to a standard fire alarm activation, then sometimes it is just an engine and ladder.

If it a high rise or working fire then additional companies will be dispatched as needed.

When there is a confirmed working fire you will also hear a rescue, safety officer and additional engines, ladders and ever Battalion Chiefs

and a rehabilitation unit long with a Medic Unit with a supervisor.

If the incident grows in size then you will hear the Chief and Deputy Chiefs being dispatched as well.

If it a traffic accident with injury you usually hear an engine and ladder dispatched if the incident is upgraded to an entrapment or pin-in

then the rescue and Battalion Chief are dispatched.

Like I said what companies are dispatched depends on the amount of information that (Alarm) Dispatch receives on the initial call in.

Hope this helps

David
