Can anyone confirm Cherokee County Roads uses 156.225 DMR with Color Code 9, Talk Group 73059.
Callsign KFM392 has DMR listed as an emission. This frequency is listed as Roads department in the data but has FMN as the mode. I was unable to confirm the user but this is the closest license that has DMR emission with this frequency. The radio traffic heard sounded like a roads department.

I have Cherokee County Roads in my 325P2 as 156.225 analog with a PL of 146.2.

That said, They may well have moved it to DMR and I wouldn't know since the radio is looking for an analog signal. It does strike me as odd that they would use such a "random" talk group number.

Heads up there is also a Cherokee County in North Carolina and it is on the VIPER the statewide radio system
And?...
This is clearly the Iowa forum. OP is inquiring about a possible change to the entry below.

It's definitely possible the radios were upgraded & voice mode could have changed. License was last renewed this past October & I'm seeing 7K60FXE which is a DMR emission. Anyway, carry on Iowans!

I thought the same thing about the talk group. If you could confirm that they are using DMR with CC and TG I listed that would be great. I am not 100% sure if this was Cherokee county or if it was someone else. I originally thought this was Lancaster County Roads but they went NexEdge instead of DMR.

I don't know about Cherokee County but a few counties away, Lyon County is on DMR for their roads department on another frequency (155.025) and their TG seems random too. (139) I was also thinking -- 73059 isn't so random. Those are highways in Cherokee County -- State Highway 7, State Highway 3, and US Highway 59.

I'm not really local to Cherokee, but the next time I'm in the area I'll give a listen.

Today I am getting short bursts on this frequency. They sound like DMR, but only the portion of the DMR signal at the very end of a normal DMR conversation -- the part that plays after the voice is done. It's just a second or two and then a pause of 5 or 6 seconds, and then another burst. It's been going on at least for several minutes. It might just be continuous. I've got it plugged into my DMR scanner on digital mode, and it decodes nothing. Any idea what it could be? I know the band is up a little today, so it may be DX... I'm in Rock Rapids. The FCC database shows Cherokee County and Burt County, NE within 100 miles of my location. Burt Co is NXDN and it sounds kinda similar to DMR. Anyone have any clues?

Do you think the short data bursts are Burt County? I don't really know what they are. Not sure if they're NXDN, as we don't have much NXDN up here...
No. I have that frequency in my scan list and only hear them in analog mode and no data burst. It could be Lancaster County, NE Roads department. They use NXDN trunking. I have picked that up before on short burst. No one from that area has updated the database with that info and I did not have enough info to update it.

I can confirm 156.225 CC9 as Cherokee County Roads. I cannot confirm the TGID since I forgot to reprogram the the channel as 1 freq trunk. I cannot advise on the Burt County question other than to let you know I've been hitting the temp lockout button like a madman the past couple of weeks.
