hi all i always visit Chester and listen to the sheriff and pd. im in the area of Helen street and the walmart. i want to add some more things to listen to. does the york county p25 system reach that area of Chester county.

I believe he is referring to Chester and York County SC. His location is listed as Irmo SC, so that it what I am assuming. I might be wrong though. If so, not much on the York County SC P25 system is encrypted. The system can be found here: https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=4855

I live in Lancaster County PA. Between Chester and York County. Lancaster police are encrypted. York PA police are not.
Also referring to the wrong state, the post is pertaining to SC York, Chester and Lancaster counties, hence the post being in SC Forum.
Searay is correct on all accounts in this thread. There is little encryption used in York County, SC with the exception of tactical radio traffic.
