Well I am shocked by this one. About 15 minutes ago my 536 just picked up part of a dispatch from Chester. I’d recognize those beeps anywhere.

Unfortunately it was still very scratchy and that 536 that nabbed it is used to monitor my home County’s VHF dispatch along with surrounding counties still on conventional. Between the static and the priority scan being active flipping it to a closer to me call I didn’t catch the full dispatch. Once the archives update I’ll have to listen. But nice to know that under the right conditions it will still come in for me. Even if it was only for 3 seconds.

Now I’m curious if I do occasionally get them but the 536 is just so busy with my local stuff that it never has the chance. I jiggled some things around elsewhere and locked the 536 in record mode on Chesco. I’ll give it a week or two and see if that was just a lucky hit.

Yeah. Just my luck. First time in decades I’ve been able to hear it and it’s got very little time left. I hope they reconsider. Or at least bring back the automated dispatch on the P25 as an alternative.

A little off topic, but another one of my favorites to listen to on the beach up here is Ocean County, NJ EMS Dispatch.. 463.1875 71.9 pl. Great signal up here. The wife looks at me funny, lol, but then I remind her, we used to visit those beaches all of the time... :D

Zero hits here for me since I picked them up earlier in August so I’ve returned my scanner back to it’s main job of scanning locally.
Ironically I was in Ocean City, Md last weekend and picked up a partial dispatch for Chesco for the first time I can ever remember. One time only and I missed the beginning of the call due to local traffic but those beeps are unmistakable.
