I saw information posted somewhere quite a while ago about the News12 New Jersey chopper. They're on an LTR Trunk System licensed to Kenneth Kirsh/Arthur Breese, Middlesex County. It's a 1 frequency system, and yes there is such a thing. The frequency is 461.400, LCN is 04 and the talk group is 0-04-100. It appears to be a leased frequency/TG. There is a similar company in New Jersey, Atlantic Coast Commuications, based in Holmdel, I believe. Companies lease frequencies/TGs from them also. I believe the Asbury Park Press leases from them and Rural Metro Ambulance also leased from them when they were operating in New Jersey. You can monitor the chopper on their frequency in conventional mode, without going to the trouble of programming the trunk system, but if you do you, will also hear any other companies/agencies that have a talk group assigned to that frequency. I don't monitor it so I can't verify this information, just passing along what I saw posted.
