Yeah, had a gal run a stop sign and hit a small SUV a couple doors from my house. SUV flipped and was totalled.

Talked to one of the ECPD guys the day after and he said that the woman had been stopped for expired-reg/no-insurance about five minutes earlier. Coulda impounded the car then and there but went easy on her. So, late to work, she blew the stop and the rest is history.

Like my wife says, "people are consistent." No insurance, lapsed reg. No surprise that she is irresponsible in other ways as well.

Exactly why I tend NOT to go easy on unlicensed drivers. I get the whole treatment. "I just drive because I have to get to work". "I only drive to the store". "I'm only driving right now because my friend is drunk". "I don't usually drive, only today".
