FWIW, I hear H-50 in the Orange/LA County area.
Yes. I used to hear “H50” all the time in the San Fernando Valley. Don’t hear them as much anymore.
Do you guys hear them on the blues or on local bases?
130HP changed its tail number to 140HP since the aircraft that had before it crashed.
N981HP and N982HP are new CHP helicopters, likely based out of Golden Gate division (based on their flight paths), but unable to pin down their callsigns. I think there is one more out there, but I don't recall the tail number as it's not currently in the air.
Yes, 981 is the new H-30 and 982 is H-32. 983 is almost done and will be going to Paso. 314 and 341 went south and you should see them in Fullerton.
Thread updated.
Do you happen to have/know the callsigns for the Fullerton and Paso birds?
979 is currently based out of HQ as a glass cockpit transition trainer and will be going to Redding once 983 is delivered to Paso
Woah! Haven't logged in a while. Good to see my OP has indeed been popular. A quick update; N6197N is now showing that it's registered to a Pleasant Aviation in TX. So, no longer owned by the CHP. I guess it should be removed from the list. On that note, Anyone know where N518HP, is based out of now? It's not in Fullerton anymore. I went to their Air Show and it wasn't there. Their pilot said it was moved up north a long time ago, he didn't specify where though. It's definitely still flying for them though. Still registered and all.
