Lime was busy during this past weekend's Coachella Music Festival. With about 60,000 fans per each of the three days in and out of basically country roads, lots of traffic control tac talk during the hours before and after each day's event.

gmclam,
You appear to be right. It appears that Lime-6 is the same as Tac-6, used for Aircraft-Speed Enforcement Campaigns here in the GG Division. Last month the plane was transmitting on both frequencies down to the ground units which leads me to suspect that the mobile radio's programming were not consistant.

Has anyone ever heard the term "Lime" used at all for these Tac channels? If not I'm going to rename them to System-wide Tac Channels in the DB.

I know Kelty lists them as "Lime" but I would like an alternative source with real experience or the official answer.

Lime 10 (45.98) is also Animal Control in L.A. County. CHP does not even have a license on 45.98. I'm starting to think someone submitted the Lime channels as a joke, or he was just misinformed.

They came from the Kelty GRS State book, now that I have it in my hands and can check.

CHP TAC channels

Good afternoon. I was looking closely at the "Lime" channels. For them to be an exact match with SoCal TAC channels 1-8, these changes in the Lime channels are needed:

TAC 3 mobile is 42.10 and not 42.94.

TAC 8 mobile is 42.22 and not 39.14.

The lineup for TAC channel in SoCal is:

CHP TAC channels as of Aug 2000
1 45.02R 179.9 42.26M 103.5
2 39.42R 136.5 42.06M 136.5
3 45.94R 136.5 42.10M 136.5
4 39.92R 136.5 42.28M 136.5
5 42.92R 136.5 42.62M 136.5
6 45.06R 136.5 42.38M 136.5
7 45.02B 136.5 42.08M 136.5
8 39.14R 136.5 42.22M 136.5

L.A. CHP has been using TAC 4, TAC 3, and TAC 6 today for dispatching, probably due to maintenance of normal channels.

Some of the frqs. listed are parts of Tac channels, old and new.
Lime 1 through Lime 8 are actually Tac 1 through Tac 8 in Southern Calif.
I don't know what Lime 9, 10, & 11 are.

I like your list better than what's in the database. It also jives with my experiences with TACs in the SF Bay Area (they used tone 136.5).
