CAP frequencies

So, i'm not seeing any Oklahoma frequencies for CAP other than the old 148.150. Does anyone have the currently used freq's? I know they changed to P25. Makes for good listening when a plane goes missing...

Actually they went Dual mode [primary is analog, but they can do P25 if needed]

Try 148.1250 and 148.1500, also many others are in the RR Wiki

Any idea what the old Rptr sites were? It helps in tracking down the new info....

Good luck...

I am a Civil Air Patrol member and work in Communications.

I will tell you two things.

1. The majority of the frequencies that were posted ARE wrong.

2. Civil Air Patrol is very soon moving to digital encrypted communications with about 5 different encryption keys.

Good luck on being able to snoop out the frequencies!

We are considered the Auxiliary of the Air Force and ALL military communications are going digital encrypted. Actually I do believe ALL government communications are going digital encrypted.

CAP comms encrypted..WHAT?..why..?

I am a Civil Air Patrol member that works in communications.

All I am at liberty to say is two things.

1. The majority of the frequencies listed ARE wrong.

2. Civil Air Patrol is going to be switching to ALL digitaly encrypted communications with about 5 different encryption keys. This will make hunting Frequencies very hard.

Interesting, as a (13 year) former CAP Comm Officer said that the digital encryption item is news to him. The P25 transition is a given. Here in Tucson the 148.150 system is ANALOG / P25 now. He was wondering when and what government entity is going to provide all the nationwide units these NEW radios AND REPEATERS? They ain't cheap. As it is getting good CURRENT high quality is rough as CAP always got hand me downs. Most CAP members I know buy there own equipt. I personally can't see the reason why CAP would need ENCRYPTED radios.. They are a CIVILIAN VOLUNTEER search and rescue operation... What next CAP will be getting F-117's and B-2's. CAP going full bore military? It just doesn't make any sense, ENCRYPTION? CAP? WHY? What does the CAP do that NEEDS SUCH SECURITY !... That's just to much to believe. In this day and age, I guess anything that DOESN'T make logical sense when dealing with the government, well is LOGICAL and ain't supposed to make sense. CAP encrypted. THAT would concern me if this in fact happens, what DO they want to hide as A VOLUNTEER operation? Becoming a PARA MILITARY operation? HMMMM..LOL. lol...

Civil Air Patrol - The RadioReference Wiki <<<Sure seems pretty CURRENT to me.

a.) then Why comment ! [Sorry, but nice try] did you forget to sign the Non-Disclosure form ? You need to remember the proper statement is "I can not Confirm, nor Deny the accuracy or inaccuracy of the information presented"

b.) CAP [Corp might] could use P25/Enc, but there are still many Radio Operators who have their own Radios and CAP "WILL NOT" put the Enc Keys into Personal Radios

c.) Another Nice, try, I'll give it a 7.0 for effort. Going Digital has nothing with users MANDATED to go Narrowband ;)

Which reminds me, we still need help !!

The CAP Basic Channel plan is well established [at this revision], however what we need to do is continue building out the R-## list of the Repeaters [which are lacking in many many states]

The HUNT is On ! :D

Hunting or finding an encrypted P25 frequency is just as easy as finding any other narrowband frequency. Don't confuse that with being able to listen to it.

First off, it is easy to snoop out the frequencies, even if encrypted.

Second - the list seems pretty accurate to me.

Third, I suspect your claims about encrypted may be a bit much. P25 - but not encrypted.

CAP is a CORPORATION that has a mission as the CIVILIAN auxiliary of the Air Force. One of the big problems they continue to have is people who take the whole Auxiliary of the Air Force a little TOO much to heart. Corporate - as in the headquarters, is very quick to point that out. There was a push a few years back to try to get a little more distance, push the corporate uniform instead of the Air Force cast offs, etc.

I bet you like the BDU's.....

They were doing a lot of training over the weekend apparently centered around Ardmore as they were using the designation, "Ardmore Command". The only P25 transmission I heard was on 148.125 and the NAC was 7F3. The main repeater they seemed to be using was analog on the same frequency with a tone of 203.5. Other freq's included 143.55 / 203.5, and 139.875 / 173.8.

148.1500 with $7F3 and/or 203.5 Hz is a Tactical/Portable and/or Aeronautical Repeater [R-64]

143.5500 is the input to 148.1250 with 203.5 that is also an Aeronautical Repeater [R-63]

So far OK has reported use on R-63, R-64 and R-67 for Portable and Aero Repeaters.

139.8750 is TAC 1

Does anyone hear any Radio Nets for the OK Wings?

Just so the monitoring public understands, to clear the statements up.

"The use of a modified [CAP/MARS MOD] Amateur Radio for CAP is not allowed. Icom and Yaesu aka Vertex do make NB radios Seems NTC hasn't done any updates on their list since 2006

No actually I don't like Air Force style BDUs. I like the corporate Blue BDUs.

The only thing I can say to your attitude is "Total Air Force". Civil Air Patrol has now been deamed by the Air Force, as part of the "Total Air Force".

Bet that really honks you off, eh?

It relay is unfortunate, you have no concept of loyalty, and taking pride in volunteer work!
