In light of the recent lovely winter weather, does anyone have the frequencies for the roads department in Clark County and the city of Winchester? Thanks.
i haven't really listened for the salt trucks.... but there could be some on these freqs:
clark gvt 155.74500 151.4 pl
win*util 155.11500 118.8 pl L
win*gvt 155.92500 156.7 pl
i don't have them at hand, but try the department of transportation freqs as well, the state folks handle the interstate and the other u.s. routes
these are the ones listed for district 7 (covering clark county):
47.14000 BM District 7 - Lexington FM
47.38000 BM District 7 - Lexington FM
I have been able to monitor some, but not much, traffic on 155.745. Someone has submitted this frequency as the correct one, though, so I must not be listening at the right times.
since your original post i have plugged 155.74500 in and listen... i don't hear much there but have identified them as being road crews and other government services.... i hear a lot of different stuff on 155.11500 which i have as winchester utilities.... the key to it is, i guess, figuring out how the salt trucks are identified on the air..... gonna be a long winter so we'll be able to break the code.
last night i heard a few transmissions on 156.180 (192.8 pl) that appeared to come from bourbon county... one of these detailed what sounded like road treatment activities between centerville and the depot... the reason i bring this up is because this freq is licensed to the state transportation department as covering mercer, woodford and powell counties.... might give this freq a try. i will also program it in and see if i get anything....
On the Radio Reference home page you will see Database on the top menu, click on that, then click on the outline of Kentucky. Scroll down and you will see every county in Ky to chose from, If its not on this site you are probably not going to find it any were. Hope this helps.
