Cliffside Park DPW

Just caught the Cliffside Park DPW on the fireground channel of 501.7625. Is this a new thing???

not really, and who ever submitted the Passack Valley Fire ground freqs there not new, most towns have had them and the freq's are sometimes used by the various DPW's during storms like this one - when the channels get busy like in Westwood every body moves off to their own channel - just like Cliffside did

Now I'm confused. I had Cliffside Park public works using 155.955 (118.8). So there are two radios in their trucks? One VHF high band and another UHF? Or did they get issued UHF portables for storm details? 501.7625 seems like an odd selection for an alternate DPW channel when 500.6375 is idle.

As stated above when it gets busy DPW town crews that share a same channel even show up on fire freq's as long as there no fire calls - so thay can operate with out interferring with the next town
