Just a follow up here on Clifton FD auto dispatch.
Its been about two and a half weeks since the switch over to auto dispatch of their Channel One 154.415. Hopefully they have employed data going to CAD, Tablets and station printers as stated by “902”. Otherwise for us who listen via a radio or scanner, this system simply ”stinks”! It all depends where you are. At times the transmission is “somewhat” clear other times audio sounds out of phase or totally inaudible.
To many times I have monitored apparatus and mobiles asking dispatch to repeat their transmission. Especially the Chief of Dept when frustrated yells a very rare expletive over the air to dispatch to repeat. Its just not the auto dispatch its what ever radio shop is maintaining their system. It hasn’t been right for a few years now.
Will it be better when they switch to UHF 🤷🏻‍♂️⁉️Hopefully so but who knows⁉️

Hmmmm:unsure: Looks like Clifton FD has reverted back to live dispatchers when announcing EMS and Fire Calls. The auto dispatch stopped about 3 days ago.
IMHO the “live” dispatch is a much needed improvement and you can understand things a little clearer. However, much work is still needed on their VHF system.
Still at times the transmission is “somewhat” clear other times audio sounds out of phase or totally inaudible.🙄⁉️😑

Did not last too long. Clifton FD Dispatch as of today is back on Automated Dispatch.
The announcements seem to be slower in cadence and perhaps a little clearer. 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️😑

Ahhh yes, automated dispatch was an episode of Chicago Fire. Firehouse 51 was the test station for this technology. As that episode ended the final shot had Chief Boden ripping the control panel off the wall. :ROFLMAO:
