Close call feature help

Hello guys, Iv got a question regarding the close call feature. Iv had this radio scanner for about a year, every feature I use has worked until recently, I use close call to pick up radio freqs for work and program them into my baofeng UV-5R to talk to staff, recently pulled my scanner out of my bag and the antenna was a little crooked, I carefully molded it back to being straight, could that of hindered it's performace? Iv always been able to key up and walkie and the scanner would pick it up in seconds. Now I can talk on a two way radio for 30s and my scanner just wants to pick up a useless freq full of static. I even went directly into the "close call only search" so my programed channels would interfere in the search. No luck. Long story short, shortly after antenna was bent I stopped getting close call pick up, coincidence or not? Please help.. I really don't want to pay another 300$. Unidin already wants me to pay 90$ to send it in.

the antenna is just a piece of wire in a rubber mold
however transmitting next to the radio can fry the first amp in the radio.
it is used to microvolts not volts, so to speak.
you might have the attenuation on and would shoe as ATT in the display.
or somehow have set up a screen on the band
or even locked out the channel, check the freq lockouts.

It is possible that when your antenna became bent that you also damaged the connector on the radio. It is common for the center pin of the connector to become "unsoldered" from the circuit board in the scanner.

Is it at all possible that the transmitting radio is using digital? If so, it would likely sound like a bunch of useless static on Close Call.
