You could post a video and us that had problems could say if we had that or not.
Turns out my squelch was turned all the way down. I reset the squelch level and all problems have disappeared; no long tails, faster scans, and no more static (which was happening on only CSQ channels, which is how I found out). I am happy to report that a stupid mistake was to blame! But, now I know the true symptoms if my unit ever falls victim to a CSJ.

Do few minutes of active conversations in debug mode and post. It should say if you have a communication problem in that suspected connector.

P.S. For future reference, how do I enter Debug Mode?

My SDS 100 stopped receiving last night, and I'm trying to figure it out. I doesn't receive anything of the norman system I listen to, Fort Worth FD, and RSSI is stuck on -35 or 45dbm, and when I check the local noaa site it's just static and -35dbm. I tried the original antenna, and adjusted the squelch, and there's no change. Also moving the antenna doesn't help. I'm thinking it's either internal antenna connection fail, or something worse, but not the standard CSJ issue. Bought the scanner back in 2019 so it's not under warranty, and trying to decide whether to send it to Jon of not.

Thanks for any help!

Pretty sure constant RSSI of -35 or so is a classic cold solder joint symptom.

Thanks, Kevin, and I'm pretty sure it occurred after I'm pretty sure it started after I tightened the antenna, which would fit as that being the cause, as stated in earlier posts.

Thanks again!
