I figured I would let everyone know that the Cola FD is actually switching to a full 800 operation on August 24th 0745. The UHF channels will be in use for toning of stations and volunteers only. There will be no other traffic besides dipatch on them. They will be simulcast on Dispatch 1. More info to follow.

Will CFD be running digital or analog? I know that almost all of the new CPD TG's are digital.

Analog we are getting XTS 2500's so we will be digital capable for the future.

The new TG's are already in the database as are the simplex FG channels we will use at a working incident. CHeck the the database for all the info.

kind of like how Lexington Co Fire Dispatch works. They tone on VHF w/800mhz but most of their traffic is on the Palmetto 800. I also heard 16128 active on the Little Mountain tower a few nights ago. Don't know if this has been around for a while, or they were testing, but it sounded like Fireground or something like that.

We will dispatch incidents and clear from the scene on Dispatch 1. All incidents will be assigned to OPS 1 or Ops 2 and a working fire will be on a simplex conventional 800 channel. The TAC channels will be for large area incidents, water rescues etc.

Still on track to start using 800 fully tommorrow am. We will see how it works out.
