I rarely comment within this topic, but your setup is very well done. Great job on creating a functional and organized space. Oddly enough it's the antenna photo's that I enjoyed the most. 9 out of 10...

It came from Staples a few years ago. No sure if they still carry them.

I cant seem to find it on the website.... I'll have to do a bit of searching, cause it looks like a great desk.

Hello Friends:

Great get up :) I wander what his neibhors think when they saw all the Antennas??

Honestly, I could care less. Well, maybe I care a little? One neighbor thought my antenna farm had something to do with me being a police officer (I have since retired), but pretty much had no clue. The neighbor who made that statement currently has his house for sale. I asked the real estate agent (personal friend of ours) and she said no one at any of the showings of the neighbor's house ever made any comments about (my antennas and) our house.

Matter of fact, I now have an Alpha-Delta DX-CC 40-10 meter dipole, with the centerpoise off the near-side of the Glen Martin roof tower on another side-arm (not shown in the pictures).

I know I'm just being petty, but WHY must everyone refer to their 'shack' as a command post? It's a bunch of radios, NOT a command post.

My college English Lit. professor used the quote below which might help...usually she would burst into a theatrical presentation of it at those times when a student would take animated exception with her pronunciation of his/her name during early semester roll call...

A Rose,
A Rose,
A Rose...
By any other name
Will smell as sweet

Perhaps when it's NOT 02:04 and sleep has dissipated the clouds of question prone to the mind at that hour, the answer shall present itself.

Whether it's called a CP, Monitor Station, Scanner Desk, or a Bunch of Radios...it remains one of the most impressive, organized, and functional scanner/computer/work stations ever posted on this site.

I know i'm a little late here but beings I do work 2 jobs, and doing some back reading I feel the need to vent a little. jparks29 isn't it funny how some pots on here call the kettles black? My goodnes just because someone goes out and buys a old police car they are a WANNABE poser cop, but oh my god don't you dare talk about my WANNABE COMMAND POST where I can be the WANNABE COMMANDER of the incident scene!

How do those antennas work for you in the attic??

They work great given the constraints. Wood and shingles are fairly RF transparent at these freq's. This would not work for a foil backed shingle roof though.....

Heavy snow affects them to some degree.

I also feel better using these during storms as they are less likely to be a lightning target...induced voltage is another story though....

Hmm I always wondered what my desk would look like with a few radios and scanners on it. Now I know since I own the same exact desk.
