Having working with several groups in Canada on radio frequency licensing, I can tell you that in all of Canada, the FRS frequency's are the ONLY frequency's that do not require a license.
Any other type of radio system, frequency, needs to be licensed and the licensing is very controlled g and depending on what you are trying to do can be very expensive compared to licensing in the USA.
Example,
customer wishes to have 10 frequency's with 100 radio's, in the USA, this would cost a one time +/- $300.00 for frequency coorandation fee, a 10 year license fee of +/- $200.00.
In Canada, this same setup would cost +/-$200.00 initial setup, then $15.00 FOR EACH RADIO ($1500.00) PER YEAR, for ONE year, and MUST RENEW EVERY YEAR.
Canada only has a year to year license program.
