yes, they are. All in the 150-160 band.

I thought you said in your earlier post that you were going to put them all in the same bank, must have overread that part.

Thank god for freescan its helping me a lot, now lets hope my scanner works with my desktop.

But this has brought up a few questions. Is Motorola Type 2 a digital system? If not do i program it as 800mhz standard, 800mhz splitter, 900mhz band, vhf band, or uhf band. I am trying to program Westcom since it is 800 mhz freqs then im assuming its going to be 800mhz standard or 800mhz splitter, but how do i know what one it is?

Also what is I-Call?

Westcom is 800 standard.

i-calls are Individual calls, when one radio directly calls another one, similar to a phone call.

If by icom you mean i-calls, thats up to you. leaving it on wont hurt anything, just means you will hear icalls when they happen.

So how is this possible. Im listening to the RACOM system today, and i hear some law enforcement chatter on the Omaha East system, TGID 14-011 to be exact. I continue to listen and i hear them say Polk County to 123. Now i live in council bluffs iowa currently and am picking up Polk County. Im about 100 miles away, i should not hear this should i? Also i know the Omaha East freqs are the same as polk county. I still dont think i should be hearing polk county from 100 miles away.

I think you misunderstand the idea of a networked system. Every site on the RACOM net is interconnected, so a Polk County Deputy could be in Council Bluffs, and his radio will still hear Polk Co Ops. If any radio affiliates with a talkgroup, it will automatically bring any traffic on that talkgroup to the site. So if an officer turned to a talkgroup used by Council Bluffs, it would come in on the site he was on.

Think of it like cell phone roaming, no matter where you go, your call stays connected, but not every site in the network has your call, just your tower and the tower of the person you are calling. But in this case, there can be 16383 callers on the same line, each with their own tower if the system was that large.

No problem, just keep in mind that the system has no idea your scanner is there, it requires a legit user to bring talkgroups to a site. But programming in everything you want to hear on every site will assure you hear it if it ever comes active!

Welcome to scanning RACOM :)
