Hello to all. It has been a long time since I have visited. I have a question, while going through the frequency database, I did not see "The City of Compton" listed. Did I over look it or has it been removed? I am looking for the frequencies for the City of Compton Municipal Code Enforcement Division.
Does anyone know where I can find the Compton Frequencies. Also, a little insight, the LASO is probably on their way out of the city. Contract expired and they were only allowed a 60 day extension. The department has done enough damage and killing over the years, it is time for them to go.
Blessings and have a great monitoring experience!

EDIT: While I was rambling on here, my good friend Mick, who lives 600 miles closer to Compton than I do, actually answered your question in message #2. Which at least proves my point that the FCC data is raw, and no substitute for actually being within listening range, plus you have to search "just right" and use some imagination to get everything to be found at the FCC's database. Thanks, Mick :)

If they're not in RadioReference, I usually go next to the FCC site at http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchLicense.jsp It's pretty much the "horse's mouth" for raw data, but you sometimes have to look closely and read between the lines. License information will seldom show the exact use of a frequency (which agency, for what purposes, etc) but for a city as small as Compton it should point you toward what you're looking for. That's the real difference between the database here at RR and the FCC's "official" records. The info here at RadioReference.com is (at least theoretically) gathered by people who've monitored and verified the frequency usage, while FCC info is official but very raw.

Having said all that, Compton has these current licenses: KMK404
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/licenseFreqSum.jsp?licKey=1286825 with 155.745 as base/repeater and 154.055 and 158.76 as mobiles

WNNQ981
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/licenseFreqSum.jsp?licKey=1226366 with 151.115

and WQAD246 licensed to- "COMPTON, CITY OF, MUNICIPAL WATER DEPARTMENT"
http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/ApplicationSearch/applFreqSum.jsp?applID=2233114 with 462.40 and 467.40. There's a comment "Distribution of water by pipeline to city residents radio will be used to automate control & monitoring systems" so it may be data streams that you'll hear there.

Did the city of Compton make a decision regarding reviving their police department?
Not yet. On November 17 the City Council authorized continuing phase two of the study of whether it's practical - page 291 of this big, boring, slow-loading City Council agenda: http://www.comptoncity.org/agenda/2009/11_2009/091117/1308191112200906301755.pdf -

And according to Compton pushes forward on police department study | Los Angeles Wave - Community News, Sports & Entertainment | West Edition

"...As for the possibility of terminating the city’s [new 5-year] contract with the Sheriff’s department earlier than the set date [November, 2014], he said, not likely. Terms of the current agreement allow the cancellation of the contract within 60 days of its anniversary date or 60 days prior to a rate increase. With 180 days notice, either party can terminate the contract for any reason. If the council decided to upstart the CPD, the report by Rouzan estimates that process could take up to two years.

“The implementation from the original analysis is about a two year process anyway,” said Evans. “So no matter what they decide we believe the sheriff will be here for a while.”
