they dont have any special use for USCG??....security, port enforcement, anything like that?

If you're near the naval base you can monitor channel 12 for port ops and i cant remember what channel is for the tug boats.
in new haven/bpt area you hear uscg all day ch 16 and 22. some schmuck the other day asking for a radio check on ch 16 it was funny as hell you know the standard 10,000 dollar fine speech. yup guess the radio worked huh-lol
