In a trunked system, why is the listing called a control channel. My eyes, I see a frequency in the box. first visit. Maybe my last.

A frequency, is, well, a frequency.
A "channel" in general radio terminology can
1) refer to the entire bandwidth occupied by the transmitter, and
2) be a tag name given to such.

Control channel is a trunked radio term. In most new scanners you only need the control channels and the alternates to monitor the system.

The OP has posted a grand total of twice in the last 8 years, and hasn't logged in since October 10. It seems unlikely he will see any further replies...

3) A channel can have two frequencies, one for transmit and one for receive.

In a trunked system, why is the listing called a control channel. My eyes, I see a frequency in the box. And speaking of what I see. I was checking the moral barometer, and it's getting kind of cloudy on this forum. Why do you have masturbation device ad's here? Who makes these poor decisions? This is my first visit. Maybe my last.
If your getting those kinds of ads here, you're apparently googling masturbatory devices elsewhere. ;)
