Hello, this might apply to the general scanning discussion as well, but I am trying to effectively monitor the national medevac frequency, 7AG88D, 774.61875, I programmed this in as a monitor on a 12.5 KHz channel in my G4 but recently during a incident it came across with a sound similar to undecoded DMR, like a loud engine running, what would I need to do to effectively monitor this frequency, do I need to input a TG, change the bandwidth? Thank you for any help understanding this issue

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a p25 conventional channel. You need to set it up like p25c. You have your frequency in tab 2. In tab 3 I think it is (protocols), make sure you have p25c in as one. In tab 5 add the wildcard tgid of 1 under the p25c column. In tab 6, your knob should be monitor mode. But instead of csq make sure you use p25c. It's just under where you Sheff your frequency. Add the nac code of 293 in the nac spot. Then dish at the bottom be sure to activate the tgid that you entered in tab 5.

TGID 1 is *not* a wildcard. Many, but not all, P25 conventional systems may use TGID 1 by default. To be safer, you could create a P25C group with ID 65535 (DEC) (which actually *is* a wildcard)... or use the exact TGID(s) if known.
Also on tab six when you enter it use the generic/wildcard NAC of F7E unless you know the correct NAC. Don't assume it's the default.
