Approximately 12:15 p.m. a woman was hit and killed by a train on the Northeast Corridor between Cornwall Heights and Eddington stations.

This is expected to interrupt Amtrak and SEPTA train service for an extended period of time.. image shows chopper 10 orbiting the scene. Chopper 6 and SkyFox29 who were at the scene and left were overheard on the aviation news Chopper frequency saying that from the looks of the train.. the train won.

No details available at this time.. no ambulance or rescue services were required at the time of the incident.

Surprisingly, I have not heard anything from Amtrak police on Bucks County or Philadelphia PL tones. Changes? Maybe they are just being quiet and using the phone.

I'm sure details will follow.

Bucks County assisting now, my guess would be body may not have been close to train and may have ended up in wooded area..

Local news stations in Philly are pretty useless, not getting any details, as usual the railroad is partially opened to Amtrak trains only, I expect SEPTA will not be operating until Rush Hour.

Footage from choppers show that it was a Amtrak Acela bullet train that is authorized to go 130 miles an hour through that stretch.. doesn't make any local stops between Philadelphia and Trenton.

Long known as suicide alley, Amtrak spent millions and millions of dollars to put up high chain link fence along that particular area but it is very simple to get on to the Road by entering through Eddington station or Cornwall Heights Station.

By the way, the standard National Amtrak police frequency with the pl tone out of Philadelphia is active regarding this incident.

I believe a tresspasser was killed by a commuter train in Elizabeth on March 5 delaying train traffic on that Wednesday evening.
I did a news search for train \ pedestrian \ vehicle accidents and I couldn't believe how many have occurred over the past few years.
It's really a big issue trentbob.
