Been hosting their audio feed for the past 7 years and for the past 3 days all their radio channels went silent, verified by 3 different scanners. Haven’t heard anything official but was told years ago they would eventually encrypt and prior to radio silence I heard a bunch of strange radio com checks on FD primary channel which further my suspicion they encrypted. I know it is what it is, march forward and find something new to listen to. Curious if anyone has heard anything official or even unofficially? Maybe I get lucky and they simply changed frequencies suddenly but my luck isn’t that good lol.

Interesting, I have 3 different scanners and all have been silent on all Corona Fire Channels. Have you heard anything on 154.235 (Dispatch) or 154.040 (Fire Command) recently?

Also worth noting, even the official Corona FD audio feed is completely silent too.

Without changing anything on my end, suddenly 3 different scanners started magically working again today. Also, the official audio feeds from Corona FD are suddenly working. I'm not convinced that suddenly all my scanners and SDR receivers along with the Corona FD official feeds all broke at the same time. Maybe they were testing a different frequency or PL tone? Honestly no idea but can confirm I'm hearing Corona FD in the clear on their normal frequencies today and for that I'm happy.

So from what I’ve heard and been told, none of the FDs in Riverside County should be going encrypted, and this info came from the Hemet Fire Chief

Except for Murrieta FD? They're already on the PSEC.

Yeah I know guy, if you read it and also listen daily, Murrieta is still on the VHF channels along with County Fire despite them saying they are “full-time subscribers to PSEC”
Again, this is all coming from the Hemet Fire Chief that no one is going encrypted. I trust his word over some BS public news release from the dept that makes it sound better than it actually is
And if you don’t believe me, come on down and listen for yourself

Not to doubt you, as I am hoping you are correct about Murrieta Fire, but are you certain of this? I don’t think I’ve heard their main, East or West in a couple of months. Perhaps I am just not monitoring at the right times, but I haven’t heard anything.

Yes I’m absolutely positive, I had just reprogrammed my APX and was listening to their East channel and then heard some traffic on Main and West while scanning
