I usually update my BCD436HP by downloading the update using the Sentinel software and clicking scanner>write to scanner. Today, however, I tried to add a control frequency for a P-25 system manually and write the changed file to the scanner. Doing this resulted in a "corrupted file" message.

I did a "clear user data" and tried to push a new update to the scanner. Now I get a message that a config file can't be found: "E\BCDX36HP\HPDB\hpdb.cfg. Nothing seems to be able to correct this missing file error.

Help, please.

You could try reformating the card you have first before getting another one...
But I still would get another card to have as a spare...

Don't do a quick format... Do the whole card...

Thanks for the suggestion, Randy. I did a full reformat of the SD card, and did a "clear user data." The scanner then displayed "nothing to scan." I then powered down/up and clicked "mass storage." Then clicked "force write full database" and "OK." The upload was competed successfully but when I disconnected the UFB cable the scanner shows "Scan Mode. Nothing to Scan."

If I checked the USB drive to which the scanner is connected, however, it appears that all of the folders are there and hpdb.config is in the HPDB folder.

I have to think this is operator-error on my part (at least I hope it is) but I'm stumped. Any further thoughts?

Nothing to scan tells me it is reading the card now...
Did you write your fav lists to the scanner?
Are they enabled in your profile for Download and Monitor?

Or did you enable Service Types to scan? Did you enter your zip code and range?

Duh! I never thought about having to re-enable the favorite downloads since I'd had them enabled previously. When I checked, however, they were all set to Monitor and Download off. Working now!!

Thanks for the diagnosis.
