Good Evening I would like to know what police district the United Center is
in so I put the correct zone into my scanner? I cannot hear the CPD 3700 Units
on any of the City Wides so I assume they are on the zone. Please let me know
thank you.

4700 Series Units are probably what you mean. Those are the Detail Units. They are normally on City-Wide 1. TMA's are on City-Wide 7. United Center is in the 13th District (Zone 3), but they border on 12th District (Zone 13). Madison is the district boundary there.

This should clear things up for you. If you follow Damen Ave. to Madison, you'll see United Center falls under Beat 1211 (Zone 13) , while the parking lots on the other side of Madison fall under Beat 1333 (Zone 3). The Detail Unit (4700 Beat Series) is assigned to City-Wide 1, however during larger venues (Playoffs, etc.) they may be switched to one of the alternate City-Wides (5 & 6). I've heard all these scenarios used in the past. You may here an occasional 4700 series unit on the Zone for some kind of assistance. For normal events, their isn't alot of radio traffic unless their's something important happeneing. That radio traffic you may be looking for could be on City-Wide 7 where the TMA's are assigned. The District's provide support to the Detail Unit during events.

Interesting, then how come when I was there recentley I saw a CPD car parked outside of the main enterence on Madison with a 3700 beat tag. According to the CARMA profile this is for loop traffic, did something change? Also since TMA'S do most of the traffic why did they have two CPD officers standing on the corner of Madison and Wood, and outside the front enterence on Madison? Is this for croward controal? Please let me know thank you.

3700 is Loop Traffic. Those units all work out of the 1st District (1718 S. State). The reason why this car was there could be for various reasons (dropping off paperwork etc.) Two police officers standing on Madison & Wood could have been the Detail Unit I mentioned (4700 series) or District personnel providing support during the beginning or end of the game. It's possible their was a report of possible problems to develop and they were there for a show of force, I really don't know the reason. Since you were there, did you see TMA's on the corners? I monitor City-wides 1,2,4,5,6 on a regular basis, and here 4700 series units on City-Wide 1. If you're that interested to know who is who there, maybe engage the officer(s) in a conversation and you can let us know here if you have any additional details.

This was on New Years Eve for a Bulls game that was in the afternoon. Yes the TMA'S were on the corners as well. I suspect the officer standing on the corner were from the Detail Unit but cannot say for sure. This was when I was arriving before the game started. It was very crowarded, and was pritey much a sellout.

Just wanted to update you, heard 4700 Units at the United Center on City-Wide 1 last night again. Like I previously posted, unless their is some problem occuring, not much radio traffic to hear. 4770 told "all 4700 units, report to Madison & Wood for check-off". I know , not very exciting but they are out there.

Cubs/White Sox

Detail Units were heard on City-Wide 1 during the games. The Cubs and White Sox Security bases have City-Wide 1 radios. You may hear "47xx, let me have a mobile with Cubs/White Sox command post" .This has been going on for many years, so it's nothing new, just wanted to pass it along to those inquiring about the CPD Detail Unit.
