Yet again... at 1858 Hrs. He was lucky as he took one to his shoulder and chest, but had a vest on. Initial report of return fire, unknown if offender was hit. Offender is known, was involved in a previous carjacking earlier in the day. Dropped off that car, then carjacked another victim after he shot the officer. Zone 7 was the primary, but Zone 8 was very active as the incident was on the border. All city-wides were a buzz, ISPERN, you name it, it went out over it. The offender is known to frequent locations in Chicago, Kankakee, Palatine...to name a few. So if you hear any activity on your local systems, it could be related. Offender was also reported to have mental issues as well....so a potential of violence to end this.
To top it off, a CPD Deputy Chief of Area 2 (Car 42), was involved in a personal injury accident at 83rd South Chicago. 3 ambulances responded. Overall, a whole lot of interesting listening as usual on the CPD/CFD.
