Anybody in the Omaha area have problems with the Douglas/Washington county DRS? If I am close to one of the repeaters, mine would be 103rd and Maple behind OFD Station 42, reception is great, but about 3 miles out, my Pro 96 loses "sync" with the transmission. Is this something to do with CQPSK Modulation? I do have that r/s 800mhz ducky attached to the Pro 96

OPPD talkgroups sound great here, however, but they are of no real use to me except when my lights go off.

You might try taking the antenna off at that dead spot to see if reception improves. It is possible that you are near a cell site at the 3-miles out location that is swamping the scanner's front end...reducing overall reception might actually improve the scanner's ability to get the target signal.

Greetings everyone!

Your comment about the OPPD system sounding quite a bit better than the OPD system rings true.

If I am not mistaken, I believe OPPD is using the C4FM modulation on their sites as opposed to the CQPSK that OPD/Douglas County/Washington County is using.

UPMan's comment about "front-end overload" is certainly a valid possibility. I have that same issue with my Uniden BC396T when I drive past the "Titan Tower" at the 80/480 split.

I had the same problem when I was too close to any of the towers with my 796 but my 996 handled it much better. I wouldn't worry about how many times are you going to be too close to one of their towers.
