Anyone catching any comms from the large Crabapple wildfire northeast of Fredericksburg TX?
Lots of air assets going there from Abilene (Large Air Tankers), Air Tractors from Fredericksburg and Alice.
Seen an army blackhawk as well.

On the air side, no, but on the ground side, here’s what I’ve observed:

Command: patch 65429
LCRA TGs 74, 1001, 7040 and 8522. 74 is unknown, 1001 is a bridge to GATRRS that is currents patched to G Reg Ops 6, 7040 is Sisterdale Fire 1, 8522 is Gillespie Fire 2.
Southeastern structure protection is on 8525 - Stonewall Fire 1
Water refills have been happening on 8505 Fred Fire 1
Other structure protection has been on 8523 Gillespie Fire 3 and GATRRS Llano County OPS 1.
TIFMAS/Forest Service have been on VFIRE21 and 23 according to radio traffic as well

I also fired up (no pun intended) the Luckenbach node for LCRA from my house last night after getting a rooftop antenna and cable run properly through my attic. It has been recording a ton of the traffic on GL Fire 1, 2, 3 and the command 65429 patch as well as some other related fire talk on the Headwaters Ranch fire on 65392 which patched Kendall Ops 2 and Bexar Fire together. That one isn’t far from Crabapple as it is at the Kendall/Gillespie line along FM 1376.

Several of the TFS channels are busy. From north Hays county I’m hearing the Fred repeater, compact and the air side of air to ground 1. Also hearing them on air to air, but it’s weak from here. Gillespie fire is working on Fire 2 on LCRA. Yesterday was also hearing SO on the Dripping site, but not today. The Llano fire units were on Llano ops 1 on GATRRS. I don’t know how all the agencies are talking to IC. Not hearing any VFIRE action from where I’m at. Yesterday was pretty intense.

I did see several air tanker drops when we were in Fredericksburg this afternoon. They had an Embraer jet with red and white livery, and a seaplane style attack plane with red, white and yellow livery. Both were working the retardant into the very hilly terrain where the trucks could not get into just to the west of FM 1631 south of Willow City.

I was thinking about this on the way home today. Less TG's patched today it seem's, according to the Boerne site on Unitrunker. Who set's up these patches when an incident like this kicks off??

Also, How do we figure out the unknown TG's, like 74 and is 1001 really for testing anymore or is that a "patch" TG for the LCRA system that any department could activate??

Not meaning to hijack the thread, if this is not the correct place for this post feel free to send me in the right direction.

I’ve noticed that 6527 Bexar Fire and Kendall OPs 2 are patched together again under a new patch for the Bootes Fire north of Sisterdale, and yeah the patch for Crabapple has been updated without Sisterdale Fire 1. I am not sure what 74 is, those single and double digit TGs are usually always LCRA exclusive. 1001 appears to be the Motobridge over to GATRRS where the Blanco and Llano county units were working off of G REG OPS 6. I’ve seen 1001 deployed for other patches to GATRRS in the past. I am not 100% sure how it all works, would love for someone that knows the technical side of LCRA and GATRRS to chime in if they can.
