So I've been a Ham for a few years now, and sometimes Cross-Band Repeat has come in handy... Well I just bought a brand new radio (Anytone D578) it's their tri-band + DMR radio that does cross-band and cross-mode repeat. I am able to effectively use a 2M Analog frequency and cross-mode repeat it to a DMR Talkgroup and works perfectly. So here is my situation... My local Ham club that I'm President of has a Net once a week. We use a 2M repeater frequency & we have a DMR talkgroup on BrandMeister. I would like to somehow simulcast the 2M & DMR talkgroups together during our nets so both sides can hear each other and talk to each other, sorta like being linked together. Is there a way to do this properly without causing any issues? Everything I read says to not cross-band a repeater due to the squelch tail causing a never-ending feedback loop. IS there even a way to accomplish this? I appreciate any and all comments! 73.

I would not expect a problem receiving on the DMR side where their should not be a squelch tail. If the CTCSS on the analog repeater has reverse burst it should mute the cross band radio before the squelch tail. If that doesn't work out you could at least simulcast and program a non existent receive frequency on one band so the Anytone will not try and criss cross band.

I would also run the lowest transmit power and put an extra fan on the radio.
