What exactly do you plan to use the yagi for? I can get you the plans, but it helps to know what set of plans to pas along so if you can tell me what you are planning to use the yagi for (CW/SSB, Easy Sats, Direction Finding, Scanning) I can post the best antenna plans for the particular need. otherwise, just grab some generic Yagi plans and install them on teh same boom.

Start at the cheap yagi page:

http://www.clarc.org/Articles/uhf.htm

Then go to the homebrew arrow page

http://www.g6lvb.com/HomebrewArrow.htm

LOTS and lots of people use the 2m / 70cm Arrow cross yagi for Easy sats. (Including myself).

Many people use them for DF.

A work buddy made one of the 440 cheap yagis. It worked too well. He had troubles pointing the antenna by hand. hi hi hi.

My storebought Arrow rocks.

Yeah, that would be working easy sats. See the post about the home brew Arrow cross yagi. very good antenna, I have one and it works great. This is why I asked about its use, because not all cross yagi plans are teh same and if you had needed soemthing bigger and better than the arrow antenna I could have passed that along. However, if you are planning to work the easy sats then just build the home brew arrow.

Cross Yagis can be a great idea. Homebrewing is fun but can be difficult to make one that's any bigger than say 5 elements and make it heavy duty enough to withstand the elements as a permanent outdoor installation. Cushcraft makes an awesome 20 ele (10 vert + 10 horzt) beam for VHF (2meters) 140-150 mhz Check it out. Model is: [ A148 20T ] cost new is $149.95 at Ham Radio Outlet. I've owned one and it works great. Can use and turn with a light-duty TV rotor.

good luck and enjoy
