• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all!
I have 4 Icom ic-f621-2-tr radios and have the cloning software to program them but I need the adj software to adjust the RF power output. I have scoured the internet and cannot find any place that sells it. Usually I can find a package to purchase that has the cloning and ADJ software in the same bundle but not this radio. I thought I would have gotten it as part of the package I purchased but not this time... Any help is appreciated. And yes they do make an ADJ software for this radio, it mentions it in the service manual.
Thanks in advance,
Colin A.

It's been a -really- long time since I tried this, maybe something changed in newer software revisions...

Warning/disclaimer/covering my rear:
This can open up things that have risk. If you do not understand 100% what you are doing, DON'T MESS WITH IT.

Not sure if there is power output adjustment in here, but you can give it a try:

-Open the software
-Click "help" drop down menu,
-Click "about CSF500"

Type in: reserve
Yes, there's no field to type it in, but type in on the keyboard.
That is supposed to open the "maker reserve" functions of the software. That should open up a few options that you wouldn't normally see.

Refer to warning above.

You do need to be super careful messing with power output adjustments. There are some settings that will let you set the Low, Medium Low, Medium High, and High settings. Actually going in and changing the maximum/minimum settings requires many steps and a service monitor and ammeter. Usually the procedure requires adjusting power and watching current consumption.

Yeah, sorry about that, meant to edit it. That procedure applies to a lot of the older Icom software. Same steps for different software.

Oh well, it was worth a try.
You might try and track down a service manual for that radio and see if there are options in there. I think there may be a way to activate what you need from the front panel and adjust using the correct test gear just using button presses.
