Thread Killer, where are you located and are you an admin for Colorado?

Yes many of these conventional VHF frequencies are still in use, especially in the rural areas of the state and marginal DTRS areas like Clear Creek Canyon.

Yes, yes and yes.

There is a bunch of outdated, missing and misorganized data and we are bringing up sections of the Colorado database into the current DB standards.

Hence, this is why I am asking. Duplicate information has already been removed and I'd like to see this section updated where needed with PL's, locations and unused channels removed when they are no longer applicable - and adding in geolocation information for those who use DB/GPS aware products in complanace with the DB.

Thanks. That was part of the issue. I know of Troops that "float" between DTRS and the old system regularly and with the changes that occured, I was unsure on how that may or may not have affected the analog layout. This is why I started the thread so we can realign and orgainze what is left and used.

Put it this way many of the VHF radios were completely removed from the CSP cars years ago but in other areas of the state the VHF mobile radios remain, especially in counties in which they operate remain on VHF. Boulder, Clear Creek, Gilpin, Summit, Pitkin are just a few that come to mind.

I think we are on the same page, but different chapters.

With the changes in the troop boundries, and the transition between the legacy system and DTRS, and I think we need to know (and posted in this thread) is what Troops are covering what county(s) with which freq and PL.

What this will accomplish is the ability to sepereate out the CSP analog listings either by troop or by county within the CSP listing. Also by doing this - geolocation data can be added in so that DB aware users are not scanning the entire state of CSP channels that are nowhere near them. This is part of the issue with the CSP database with all entries are under one subcatagory (a hold over). You can only geolocate a subcatagory and not each entry.

So, what I would like to do based on the information we can gather for current operations are the following subcatagories:

Statewide
-CSP Channel 3
-CSP Statewide 1
-Etc


Troop X
-Dispatch
-Tac
-Etc

or

County X
-Dispatch
-Tac
-Etc

I can do it by troop or by county. Before anyone asks, state agenices are not to be shown under the county proper listings so thats out.

This is how we did Utah which still has a mix of county/areawide repeaters as they tranisition over to UCAN (the DTRS equilivant) and feedback has been postive so far.

Yes, I hear Ch3 and Ch5 in use in Jeffco quite often especially with the aircraft conducting arial speed checks. Also hear them in marginal areas of the P 25 system.

CSP Ch 5

The info I have is 155.505 & I had one confirmation during an speed trap operation on Ch 3. Two of the then District 6 units tried to come up on 3, realized it was in use and they moved themselves off to "Channel 5". I found them by searching.

Did you happen to catch a PL on "Ch5 155.505"?

You are going to need PL on the RX. W-Link P-25 can be nasty on that frequency.
Lately it has been coming up on 154.280 in the AM. If you look in the FCC Data base you will see that 155.505 and 154.280 are on the same tower in WY.

Also just an update to that.....as of this year...ALL cars are being installed with both DTR and VHF radios, some cars were also retrofitted that were early in their lease....

Not sure which tower your referring too but the tower that had a good reach down I25 is the 85 South site which does not have .28 active on it. 155.505 is active as a control channel in Albin WY on the northeast part of Laramie county on the Nebraska State line and doesn't reach down south. It's coverage is geared towards the north into Goshen County.

The highest sites that looks down into Colorado are 85 South on the CO/WY border, Sherman Hill (coverage is typically east/west for I80) and Pinkham Mountain CO (which are on the 170.x freq's).

I believe that is the Tower. Does it also have 154.07? If so it also bothers Denver Fire which ended up using PL to keep the digital noise out. It comes and goes the conditions.

85 south uses .07 as a control channel, and had since the system was built (was one if the first constructed).

.28 is not used by any Wyolink site. The state has a statewide license on it to cover everyone. In fact when I had to research something for work I think their was only two or three active licenses on it in the state.

So anyways, still looking for active VHF CSP usage.
