• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Here is the format for trunking sites from the RR database, and the columns Unication looks at:

RFSS
Site Dec
Site Hex
Site NAC
Description
County Name
Lat
Lon
Range
Frequencies

Each frequency should be in a separate column.

Download the CSV from a US location and use it as a template.

Lat, Lon, and range can be blank, that is the GPS (Lat/Lon) location of the site and range is distance site is rated for.

The WACN ID can be set to 'FFFFF' which means radio can automatically search and match a appropriate WACN ID to use. The System ID can be set to 'FFF'. You do not need to know the system RFSS (leave it as 1) and Site number may be set to FF.

Can you please give me a proper line for CVS

It's CSV (comma-separated variables), not CVS.

It appears that PPS 0.3.16 Beta24 will not import trunked system CSV downloaded from RR today - I get "Input string was not in a correct format" on an unmodified downloaded file.

So it looks like RR added some flags to the frequencies (like 'c' for "control channel"), and PPS doesn't like that. This format works:

Code:
RFSS,Site Dec,Site Hex,Site NAC,Description,County Name,Lat,Lon,Range,Frequencies
1,001,1,1F1,"ALCO Southwest Simulcast","Alameda",37.59306523267257,-122.08495782426564,13,769.293750,769.581250,769.868750,770.331250,770.768750,771.043750,771.343750,771.643750,771.943750,772.243750,772.543750,772.843750

You get prompted for the WACN ID and System ID during the import process (after selecting a properly-formatted file).

See if this helps: Fixed: Issues with importing Talk Groups from RR CSV Download
(Fix is only for the TG import, not Site. If you have a problem with site, try looking at the headers)

No, I think this looks like a new issue - RR apparently added flags like 'c' for "control channel" to the Frequencies....

Code:
RFSS,Site Dec,Site Hex,Site NAC,Description,County Name,Lat,Lon,Range,Frequencies
1,001,1,1F1,"ALCO Southwest Simulcast","Alameda",37.59306523267257,-122.08495782426564,13,769.293750,769.581250,769.868750,770.331250,770.768750,771.043750,771.343750,771.643750,771.943750c,772.243750c,772.543750c,772.843750c

Removing the 'c's makes it work again.
