Ok, here goes...
I have an SDS100 and 2 SDS200s. I have tried everything I know to get the CT ARES Ham radio system to work with no luck. I imported the system from RR DB using ARC536 software.
Now then, I go to the "select service" tab and HAM has 3 dashes and cannot be selected to be turned on, which causes the scanner to show "nothing to scan" on the screen. I see that custom 1 is on so I turned that off, nothing. Back on again, nothing. I assigned it a quick key but still nothing. This is happening on all 3 of the SDS scanners which have DMR activated so I know that is not the problem. Any suggestions?

Never used that software, but it's the common ground between all 3 scanners. What happens if you program with Sentinel and enable all service types?

I always use this software and it has not failed me yet. I have 19 different systems that are working flawlessly. I will try sentinel now. Lets see...

Tried everything, still "nothing to scan" on the screen... Monitor and download are both on.

Go into Sentinel and under Favorites List, turn Monitor to on.

-Edit
-Edit Profile
-Click System under Favorite List Name
-Click On Next to Monitor

Make sure you have a Quick Key assigned and you can turn it on and off by typing in the Quick Key number and enter.

Excellent suggestions but I already tried all that and still nothing. I have monitor and download on for all 20 favorites lists. The only way that "HAM" is checked on is if I have the whole database turned on to scan. Its driving me nuts. 19 other systems running perfectly and this ham radio DMR system is giving me this much problem. I assigned it a Quick Key right from the start. I don't get it.

Will any of those devices scan anything? Care to share the HPE?

Is this on a favorite's list? I use ProScan, and new systems within a favorite's list are usually set to custom 1.

Try turning on custom 1 service.

Another thought: usually when creating favorite's lists and assigning quick keys, make sure the are on for ALL 3 LEVELS, favorites, system, group/site. Even if the favorite QK is on, but the system or site/group QK is off, you still get NOTHING TO SCAN message.

Ok I think I solved the problem. The DMR system has no IDs as it is on the DB. As soon as I turned on "ID search", the system started scanning searching for IDs. At least for now, it seems to be working. Havent heard anything but that may be because there are no ARES events going on. Thanks for all the help guys, it was driving me nuts. I know these scanners pretty good now, having successfully programmed and set up 19 systems. This one just puzzled me. Learned something new I guess.

As far as ProScan, I am having issues with that. The newest build (22) does not recognize the cable and it disappears from device manager when the scanner gets plugged in, so I could not try that for this problem.

CT ARES DMR only gets used consistently on Sunday nights. Other than that there is very little to no activity.

Thanks for that info. I don't expect to hear much unless there is some kind of incident that activates ARES. Given the times we are living in, you have to be ready for anything and everything.

You do know that when the scanner is in Mass Storage mode for reading and writings the favorites that the comm. port will disappear in the Device Manger? The comm. port will only appear when the scanner is in Serial Port mode (or normal operation).

No changes in that area in the latest ProScan version. Besides, disappearing from the Device Manager has nothing to do with ProScan.
