I don't think that there are any "laws" on the books, but most likely DPS policy. In today's budget minded world, the CSP should be opening up the system so that at least state agencies dqn come onboard at less cost overall, rather than build multiple systems at a greater cost.

A few states have done this and works well. With outside DPS agencies on there, they can implement "Subscriber" fees which would pay for the added infractructre.

In many areas of the United States, agencies which have trunked systems seems to be trying to out do the other by having a bigger and better radio system. That is not being on the same sheet of music!

I thought they were all for Public Safety. Recently is more like the Super 800 Digital Bowl! The more money spent, the bigger the 800 players become and public "citizens" end up being the team that lost.

i guess its time to quote the laws concerning this system. when i have the info, i will post it. it probably will not cost that much to put the doc on this system. in enfield , the tower is alredy there. as i beleive i have posted before, i kbow someone that works with the truck squads that actullay works for dmv. the dmv has repeaters on vhf. the state police has a digital system on 800 mhz. he cannot talk to a digital system on 800 mhz with his radio, so he is assigned one for that day only. does this make much sense? i dont think so. the person that told me about the legilation for this system works for the state as a judical marshall. he tried to get the local lockups on this system and they told him no way. if the doc gets its way with being on this system, then maybe your right. if i can qoute this from the books, i will. bill simpson
