I think this is awesome. I emailed uniden I believe it was 3 to 4 years ago about them doing a firmware like this to enter in the key codes and they said that they couldn’t.

Can it do AES 256 on a P25 phase 2? Asking for a friend.

I bought Motorola BP and I’m trying to figure out what folder do I put that in to my SDS100 can anyone help me on that? I will greatly appreciate it

Thanks, it's worth it for the continuous coverage to me.Close call continuous would really be nice also
If it's possible. Saves me from having to go to my sdr.

I loaded this firmware for experimental purposes, then went back and loaded current firmware 1.23.07/ 1.03.06, and can't remove the Set Debug Mode from scanners Settings menu? I cleared User Data, tried reformatting SD Card, swapped out SD Card too.

If I understand your question correctly, perhaps your answer is at
Press the relevant scanner link at GitHub - x27/openscanner: OpenScanner FWs
and go to the "Revert to Official Version" section to read more.

Unfortunately, it is not. I have reverted to previous versions prior to 1.23.07/ 1.03.06 to see if that's the issue. It "appears" once the experimental firmware is downloaded, the Set Debug Mode remains on the scanner permanently.

This is on an SDS200.

Did you rename the Official Firmware file name as mentioned in the instructions there?
Perhaps that menu item you are talking about was there before and is not intended to be removed?

I have set up Debug Files previously, once powered down, Set Debug File is removed from scanner Menu. Yes, it's intended to be removed.
I understand. I hope the developer can chime in.
(Hopefully you will not have to "live with it")

I appreciate the response and suggestions. No Debug folder on my SD cards, scanner showing Firmware version I mentioned, however on the 2nd boot up screen it's showing the "beta version" as it was noted in Read Me. However, I've dialed back to earlier versions and it still appears on both 2nd boot up screen and in scanner Menu.

I wonder what firmware version is really running on the scanner? On the 2nd boot up screen, the "beta" (1.99.40 Open Scanner) display appears, but going into the Menu under Scanner Information, 1.23.07/ 1.03.06 appears?

As far as I understand, if you have Reverted to the Original Firmware by following his instructions (changing the number of the file, etc), then you are back to the original firmware and it should not be shown on the 2nd boot screen.
The developer will be able to answer you officially, of course.
I have no experience with reverting back to the Original Firmware (and do not want to try:) )

I'm not sure if I understand that instruction about changing the number on the file? I've previously loaded beta firmwares and reverted back to public releases without issues, so I do understand the process. I'm not sure or aware about that step despite my reading up on it?

Oh... So you will have to follow the instructions to the letter at openscanner/uniden/sds200/mod at main · x27/openscanner
If you do not change the number of the file of the Original Firmware it will indeed show you the 2nd boot screen with the Beta firmware.

For the device to accept the Original Firmware, you must change the number (as mentioned there).
After you flash that file (with the changed number), only then the change will really occur.

Unfortunately, that didn't work either. It appears the beta firmware is not allowing any other firmware to load. I renamed as per the instructions to 1.23.08 BIN file. I tried 1.23/1.03 version to see if that would work so I could start there without any luck. SD Card reformatted, reloaded with Uniden files too.

If you have followed the instructions, then I have no idea. I know others that succeeded with no issues.
Others will chime-in or the developer will answer you.

Well obviously, if the “Debug ...” menu item remains, that means your firmware is not official. In order not to manipulate the file name, I suggest you first go back to the official version 1.23.05. This file is https://github.com/x27/openscanner/raw/refs/heads/main/uniden/sds200/official/SDS200_V1_23_05.bin
Then you can update to the latest official firmware using Sentinel.

Back at 1.23.07/ 1.03.06...still seeing the Open Scanner logo on 2nd boot up screen, and Set Debug File is still in the Menu section. Firmware was "official/public", downloaded from Sentinel before I experimented.
