Can the opening screen be customized with my own greeting? I can not find an option in the Butel software.

with my 396T and XT i changed the opening screen to have my name on it if it was lost or stolen.
before i found i could do that with freescan i had set up a system with my name on it.
i can't remember if i included my phone number.
do not include your social security number.

Seem open screen text is hard coded in firmware tough luck.
Not seeing anywhere to claim this can be changed, not an option via Uniden BC125AT or Scan125AT. Freescan does not support the scanner.

Perhaps Hexedit firmware is an optuion but it may also alter the firmware checksum mking it not updated able, worse accidentally crawling over the preset buffer and brick the scanner.

Uniden encrypts their firmware in scanners so not possible to hexedit as can be done to some other scanners and radios.
