just heard on the radio that there is a code 5 for a liquid gas leak sarnia police fire and opp is on scene opp has river road block at lasalle to reroute traffic away from the area

it stands for Chemical Valley Emergency Control Organization which is between the chemical plants like nova impreal oil and sarnia police fire st clair township fire opp ems they are called in when ever the plants have a possible or in an emergency but in this case the gas leak was off site but needed cveco response

Sarnia police say a leak in a Sun Canadian pipeline was the source of a low-sulphur diesel fuel spill, discovered just before noon Tuesday in the area of Churchill Road and Vidal Street.

Police reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. the spill had been stopped and, in a press release issued later in the day, that fuel from the pipeline leak hadn't reached the St. Clair River.

"Air testing by industry and by the city has been negative," said Const. Heather Emmons.
