Hello,

I have recently started monitoring the Communications & Electronis LTR system in Dalton Georgia. I have been hearing traffic on talkgroup 0-07-023 (using a PRO-106) which appears to be possibly some sort of Security Patrol Agency. I have been unable to find any information about the user of this talkgroup however. Radio traffic consists of a person calling their ID number (for example "5") then being answered by a dispatcher (usually by saying "Go ahead") at which point the original caller will state a 10 code or 2 and then being given an address by the dispatcher (such as "123 Any Street"). It sounds like possibly this is a security patrol agency who is checking in with the dispatcher after completing a check of an address, and then being given the next address to check. However, thus far there has not been enough traffic to determine further.

Anyone have any more information about this talkgroup?

Thanks,
Christian KF4ZMB

Most LTR's are for profit and the owner (C&E) rent the system to various users. In Metro Atlanta, there are quite a few of them, mostly Hispanic cab services, and many different ID's come up. I would look in the Yellow Pages (do they still exist?) under security and then happen to "drive by" their location and look for antennas!

Thanks for the advice.

Until you mentioned cab services I hadn't thought about that as an option, but it is very possible that that is what I am hearing from Dalton also.

After making that post this afternoon I did hear a male on the talkgroup advise the female dispatcher that he had made "2 stops" and then gave her a couple of 10 codes and she gave him another address. After thinking about it a cab service might be a more likely possibility than a security service, but I will do as you suggested. Next time I am over that way I will drive by the security offices and look for antennas. I know ERMC Security works in that area, but they are mostly at the Mall (I believe) and use a conventional frequency.

Thanks again,
Christian KF4ZMB

they have all three systems.
my organization is very familiar with the vendor's offering. We got to demo a NXDN UHF system from them, they brought it to our site last year, for one of our served agencies.

I'm just curious what your source of information is stating they are not supporting LTR. From my contact, and the company website, this appears to be incorrect.

Can you recall off hand what frequency that was? I have yet to be able to find it without actually contacting Dalton communications.

The home frequency for this talkgroup on the LTR System is 461.8375 (channel 7 on the system). The rest of the frequencies, confirmed LTR order, and other reported talkgroup information can be found in the RR database here Communications & Electronics Trunking System, Dalton, Georgia - Scanner Frequencies.

Hope this helps,
