Thank you for the information
well.. not a lot of info to report. Need a better setup outside of the house. I believe the control channel for the top is 854.425, chalet 854.125 and rainbow 854.475. I was able to hear talk group 2001 talking about lifts. I was also able to hear Mammoth Mtn on 854.650, ski patrol and lifts. Going to give it a go again in a couple weeks.
The two sites I mentioned is taken from license data. Your reference to the top, are you speaking of the top of Chair 7 (J7)? It is highest point for any facility at this ski area. However, most of the electronic gear on the mountain seems to be at the top of Chair 6 (J6).What do you mean by the "top?" June Mtn. has two sites, Rainbow, which is at the top, top of Chair J6 on Rainbow Ridge. The other is the Chalet site and the antenna, as well as I can tell from Google Earth, is in the center top of the Chalet building. By the top, do you mean the top of Mammoth Mtn., or some other location?
Small update for the Mammoth system. The "Chair 12" 855.0375 is currently the control channel and 855.3625 is not. I was only able to confirm with a scanner, as I can not recieve that site from my place with a PC.
855.0375 is not currently marked in RR as a control channel. es93546 had asked that he make updates.
I hope to run a log on Chair 12 but doubt I will have the time, since I am only visiting and not easy to do mobile.
Thanks for all the info. I used FreeScan to upload the system into my BCD325P2 recently. Finally up here for a trip, and I'm not hearing anything on the scanner. Just noticed some of the recent updates, so will have to reprogram when I get home and try again. Funny though, sounds like I should have been able to hear some patrol traffic or something this am even with the previous info. I had the old system programmed and could hear things fine, but havent had a lot of luck since Mammoth put up the new system. Will try again...
Yes, I did have it upgraded. I'll have to wait to get home to program using FreeScan. But I tried just programming it manually through the scanner, just to see if I could get something while I'm up here. I started a New System, chose DMR/MotoTRBO as Sys Type. Then MotoTRBO Trunk at the next entry. I hit "E" to confirm yes.Has your 325P2 been upgraded to receive DMR radio systems? The basic, from the factory, radio does not support DMR systems and must be upgraded to be able to receive such systems. I think the cost is around $150 or so. Not having this upgrade would certainly explain why you aren't receiving the Mammoth Mountain radio system.
Then I went to "new Site", and tried the Lincoln Lift site info. Went to "Set Frequencies", and using the table at Mammoth Mountain Ski Area Site: Lincoln Lift, entered 854.8625 with LCN 69, and Color code 0. But if I try to enter the same frequency again, it says "frequency exists" and doesn't let me enter it again...
You shouldn't have to enter them twice. If you enter it with LCN 69, the scanner will know that corresponds to LSN 139/140.
If you have all of the frequencies/LCNs programmed, and the system in ID Search mode, you should be receiving traffic.
I have each frequency programmed in twice in my ProScan software. Someone told me to do that in that long thread where I asked for help getting this system to work for me. Putting them in twice matches what the database shows. So your advice here confuses me. It did though, help this member to start receiving so for him it was good advice.
