I am running the Two Tone Detect image on a raspberry Pi and it has been working great! Recently the departments asked that we stream that radio chatter online. So, I have a broadcastify account setup, found darkice was already on the image and configured the config file.

I am running into the errors:
ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused
and
DarkIce: DarkIce.cpp:1187: can't open connector [0]

If I change device = pulse to device = default, the first error about pulse audio goes away, but then I still have the second darkice error.

I have been doing a lot of reading around here, but have not found a solution. I have found references to changing that device to somethign else, but no good clear indication of what to set it to.

On the two tone detect config, the input and output device index are both set to 3. Does that offer a clue of what I need to set darkice's config to be set to?

Suggestions for someone who knows almost nothing about linux?

For the benefit of anyone finding this thread, here was the solution:

Updated to the newest image of the Two Tone Detect Pi.

In the darkice.cfg, there is no / in the mount point. Broadcastify shows one on their site, but it does not go into the darkice.cfg.

In the crontab -e I un-remarked the line for darkice. Once things rebooted, screen -list showed a screen for darkice as well as two tone detect.

Things are happy now.

I am looking to do the same thing you are doing...though I have zero rasberry pi experience. How difficult is the setup? I am trying to stream audio on Broadcastify as well as use Two Tone Detect for paging...
